Make right choices for College sites in the state; Ajas is one such deserving location : Bhat | KNO

Srinagar Feb 16 (KNO) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Nizamuddin Bhat has said that opening of more Colleges in the state will enhance the opportunities for students aspiring for higher education . under this programme Government is intending to extend the facility to various uncovered areas of the state which have been craving for this since long

Bhat said Higher Education Department is seized with the demand from different blocks and Tehsils and believes that right choices will be made for selecting the location and the area. He said it is an apparent desire of the Chief Minister and Education Minister to provide the facility to well-desrved areas on the basis of a defined criteria. Bhat said that Ajas area in Bandipore District makes a fit case for grant of degree college .

He said Ajas has unique geographical location and adjoining localities which would benefit from the College touch Badipore Assembly segment on one side and Sonawari segment on the other side. He said there are dozens of Gojar and Pahari habitations around of whom many are deprived of connectivity and fall far away from present college locations in the two constituencies..

Bhat said the area has a vast potential of aspirants for Higher Education who face difficulties on geographical ‘ social and economic counts fr academic and professional pursuits. He said the area has produced meritorious students like late Mohmmad Yousuf Rather , Dr. Mohiuddin and Khazar Mohmmad who have immensely contributed to the state in various fields and the tradition of producing outstanding persons sustains with dozens of boys and girls clinching merit in studies.

He also demanded grant of women college in Bandipore , which he said is a long pending demand of the Bhat appealed both Chief Minister and the Education Minister to take into account the merit of the case for a college in Ajas and expressed confidence that Government will acknowledge its need in the area for good reasons..
